Friedrich Martin Berwerth (16 November 1850, Schäßburg – 22 September 1918, Vienna) was an Austrian mineralogist and petrographer known for his work with meteorites.〔(Berwerth, Friedrich Martin ) @ AEIOU Encyclopedia〕 He was a student at the Universities of Vienna, Graz and Heidelberg, and following graduation, worked as an assistant to Gustav Tschermak von Seysenegg at the ''Mineralogisch-Petrographischen Institut'' in Vienna (1874). Later the same year, he began work as an assistant at the ''Imperial Hofmineralien Cabinet''.
